Kevin Walsh has been writing original music and songs for as long as he can remember. Born and raised in Scotland and having Irish connections on both sides of his family, it was almost inevitable that a Celtic influence would creep into his music. However, his other musical interests include ‘Classical’ music from the renaissance to the 21st Century, Rock in all its various forms, Folk, Pop, Dance, Jazz, Blues, ‘World’ music and Sound Design and these influences can be heard in all of the music he produces. Based in the heart of Angus in Scotland, in a studio overlooked by an Iron Age Hill Fort, Kevin has produced music for TV and Radio Adverts, Educational CD’s and Historical Documentaries. His first album “Clarinda’s Reply” has been described as “moving and appropriate” by leading authority on Robert Burns, Professor Ken Simpson. “The Lion and The Cross”, written by Kevin has been suggested as a potential new Scottish National Anthem. He has been awarded a Diploma in Media Composition from the Film Music Institute in Los Angeles and is a member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.
